Dec 16, 2020: Email sent to all 2019/2020 Bocce Club members re: Social Play
In support of the members who completed the recent survey and expressed interest in playing Bocce Ball, the Club would like to help facilitate social play (as opposed to Club play) among those who believe they can manage and accept the risks of playing during the pandemic.
Please understand that the Club is explicitly stating that participants assume all responsibility for possible exposure to CoViD-19. While the Club recommends following the CDC’s guidelines for prevention, the Club will not attempt to enforce compliance. Therefore, members are encouraged to assess their risk on an individual basis. We only ask that, as always, members keep in mind the friendly spirit of Bocce to make this work.
To that end, I am sharing below a list of names and contact information of members who responded to the survey stating that they were interested in playing. (Contact information was shared via email only.) I would encourage anyone who would like to play, to call members off this list and arrange a game as a means to get out of the house and socialize. This list also includes the most recent record of the Division that member played in. You don’t have to limit yourself to reaching out to only members in your Division - - feel free to mix it up.
Please note that some people in the survey stated yes to wanting to play, but it also depended on their final decision regarding traveling to AZ, or the situation relative to the virus. Even since receiving “yes” responses to the survey, some members have changed their mind and as such, I removed their names from the list that I am attaching. So, keep in mind, this list is fluid as the Covid-19 situation in AZ and elsewhere changes.
All 2019-2020 members are welcome to use the Club’s Bocce Ball equipment. As a reminder, the combination to the equipment cabinet is xxxx (shared via email only).
The Board encourages members to follow CDC guidelines relative to mask wearing and/or maintaining a distance of 6ft. Disinfecting the balls before and after play is encouraged and glove wearing is optional. When calling other members to arrange a game, to ensure that all participants are comfortable when they meet, it might be best to agree in advance as to what sort of personal protection you expect to employ.
Do not play if you are sick or have been recently exposed to someone with Covid-19. In either case, please self-quarantine.
Finally, the Club values your membership and input, and is pleased to serve the Sun Lakes community in the best way we know how. We wish everyone a wonderful holiday season.
